Homecoming!

After nearly a week in hospital after being born, I'm finally on my way home.  Daddy picked out my sunny yellow coming home outfit.

Then I was wrapped up into a snowsuit.  I think Mommy and Daddy were expecting me to be bigger than I was!  I was drowning inside it!

I was so excited to see my little sister come home with Mommy!  I was such a good big brother, being careful sitting next to Grace.

I've been very good with Grace.  I keep checking in her moses basket to see if she's sleeping.  If Daddy plays too long with Gracie, I ask him to put her back in her bed!

Visiting the Hospital

I have been coming to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage for nearly a month now to visit Mommy.  It has become my home away from home.  Aside from seeing Mommy, I love to get up to mischief and to charm all the midwives.  Some of my other favourites are pressing the buttons on the lifts, sitting on thr wheelchairs and playing with the blood pressure machine.  Maybe I will end up working in a hospital myself one day.

Uncle Wayne & Auntie Jean's Visit

Uncle Wayne and Auntie Jean stopped by for a visit.  They had been visiting London on holiday.  So, they got to see a bit of Hertfordshire, although I do not think they had Stevenage in mind as a grand tourist attraction.  We spent a couple of hours visiting Mommy at the hospital.   It was all very exciting for me.  I even befriended a five year old girl.  Here is a picture of us having a snack, which is my favourite meal of the day.  After we said bye bye to poor mommy, we went out for dinner at Pizza Express.  My favourite as I love to eat bread.

A Year and a Half Old!!

I can't believe I'm getting so old!  Here's what I've been up to....

My favourite snack is raisins and cheerios.  I can also now drink from a cup my lunch milk.

My Mommy says that I take after my Daddy since I love playing with a ball and bat.  I have a cricket bat which I try to hit all my balls with.

I get frustrated sometimes because I understand what everyone is saying but still I don't talk much.  I still point to everthing and love doing the actions to songs.  My favourite song at the moment is "B-I-N-G-O."

For breakfast, I love eating puffed rice with milk---and I even try to eat it with my spoon!

I love pointing to my different body parts and am obsessed with tummies at the moment. I like pointing to my tummy and then to Mommy's tummy where the baby is.

I'm a really big boy now that I've changed into a new bedroom.  It's so much bigger!  I love my new curtains and the pictures of cars, trucks and buses on the wall!
Waiting for my little brother or sister to join me.  Until then, Teddy will have to do.
I love playing with Lion and Teddy and talk to them all the time.

I had to say bye-bye to Grandma and Grandpa J who spent the summer with me.

Here I am enjoying looking through a photo album with my Doudou.

Cambridge and other great fun

For his birthday, I bought Daddy a bike seat so I can ride with him on his bike.  Although I swayed side to side and had to hang on tight, I had a great time!

As the Olympic Games were coming to an end, I couldn't make up my mind which team I should support:  Great Britain or Canada?  In the end, I decided to cheer on both countries.

Here I am waving, um or eating my flags.

I also went on my second bus ride when we took a bus into Cambridge.  I went up and down the stairs with Daddy and saw so many people getting on and off.

When I went to a park in Cambridge, I wasn't shy at all.  I walked over to a bigger boy and started to play ball with him, his dad and Grandpa J.  I love throwing and kicking balls!

To top off a great day, I went out for a belated birthday dinner for Daddy.  I got to order some delicious pizza which I shared with Mommy.

Canterbury and Ramsgate

Grandma, Grandpa J, Daddy, Mommy and I took our first day-trip out of the city.  We headed to Canterbury.  It was lovely weather, much cooler than inland.  We walked past lots of quaint shops (though I wasn't allowed tasting the fudge) and walked around Canterbury Cathedral.

A scenic picnic
After visiting Canterbury, we headed to the seaside in Ramsgate.  It was the first time I got to play on a beach.  I was just as excited to play with the pail and shovel as I was playing with the sand.  Dad and Grandpa J almost lost my ball in the sea---thank goodness Grandpa J rescued it from the water!

Watching everyone have fun at the beach.
Not impressed with the sand sticking to my feet!

Summer Heat Wave

After a few months of record rain, I finally got the chance to swim in my new pool.  It's been very hot so it's the only way I could properly cool off.  Grandma and Grandpa J are in town visiting and Grandpa J blew up my pool for me.
Grandma and Mommy better give me more room!
Loving the cool water!

I'm going to try surfing next!

Canada Day Weekend!

It has been a hot couple of days.  So hot, I had to go visit my friend Amy so that we could play together in her pool.

We loved playing with each other and did not mind when water splashed in our faces.

I have no idea what Amy is doing here.  Maybe she's pretending she's a mermaid!

The following day, Mommy and Daddy took me to a gardening centre.  It was a real treat because I got to see lots of animals!

Here I am waving at the chickens.

And here I am yet again waving at the pigs!  Why aren't they pink?

I got to chase lots of chickens around--and some were coming after me!  If only I could run!  I loved the baby goats and couldn't believe how big some turkeys were.

As we were about to leave, I heard a train tooting.  They even had a mini steam train which I could ride!  It was my first ride on a train and though I remained expressionless (until I waved madly at Mommy), I really enjoyed myself!

 My first train ride!
On Canada Day because I was so good when I was out shopping, Mommy and Daddy brought me to two different parks.  I loved the park down by Stanborough Lakes as there were plenty of children to wave at.

When we got home, Daddy started the BBQ (though I was just as happy eating only rice for dinner).  Whilst I played on the grass, Mommy took tons of photos of me waving the Canadian flag.  O Canada!

First Hair Cut

Mommy tells me that as I'm now 15 months old, it's time for me to get my first proper haircut.  She's a bit sad to say good-bye to my curls, but I'm happy to have a cooler look for the summer.

Here's my "Before" shot.

I went over to my neighbour's, Margaret (who is a hairdresser) to get my hair cut.  I was very good---she tells me that I was better behaved than some seven year olds.  I sat very still on a chair whilst Mommy read some books to me.

By the end, we were very pleased by the results.  Mommy tells me that I look so grown up.  I wasn't sure if Daddy would recognise me when I got home.  He did and loved my new do!

15 Months Old!

New Things I Can Do: I'm walking even more around the house and can start walking without holding onto anything first; I know where the park is and can direct you there; I cry now when I don't get what I want; I clap to "If You're Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands."

Favourite Activities: I love splashing water everywhere in the bath; I absolutely love reading books on my rocking chair at the moment.

Here I am reading with Doudou Ane.

I also love playing with bubbles, but I'm always trying to go after the soap.

I'm upset here because I don't want to stop reading!

St. Albans

Yesterday, I spent the day in St. Albans while Mommy went dress shopping.  The market was in town, so I got to see tons of people and dogs.

Here I am in front of St. Albans Cathedral
After shopping, we took a break in front of the cathedral, where I played on a bench.

I'm eating my favourite snack of raisins and cheerios.

After a long walk back to the car, I was so exhausted, I fell asleep (actually, both Mommy and I did)!

Some Nice Weather At Last!

Finally, we're having some nice weather once again.  I was so tired of having to stay indoors.  I love being outside.

Our backyard is very sunny and all the parks are full of sun too (no shade), so Mommy does her best to bring me outside.

My favourite time to play on the grass is after dinner before bedtime.  I'm learning not to eat the grass--Mommy says I'm not a cow!

I'm noticing buses everywhere--even on my t-shirt!

 Look--here's a bus!

I have also started to walk this week.  I'm still a little wobbly--but I'm trying my best.

Being very good on the lawn.

I went over to Amy's this week to play in her backyard.  I had an amazing time splashing water everywhere with her.  We had a hoot!
